“…” Lin Xichi immediately swallowed the words in her mouth, looking him up and down, her eyebrows slightly furrowed. “Are you possessed by a ghost?”

Xu Fang glanced at her, his wheat-colored skin still glistening with tiny droplets of water, his dark eyes deep and bottomless, devoid of any other color.

Lin Xichi decisively reached out and pinched his face, as if she wanted to tear off his mask, pulling it outward forcefully.

“Or did you change into a different person?”

Xu Fang lost patience and grabbed her wrist, asking impatiently, “Are you done?”

Lin Xichi’s movements halted, and she still couldn’t believe it. She swallowed nervously and said incredulously, “Didn’t you say you didn’t want to do this kind of thing before marriage?”

Xu Fang tilted his head slightly and hesitated, “Did I say that?”

Lin Xichi: “…”

Do you have any shame left?

Lin Xichi still remembered his statement, “Don’t always try to get my body by any means.” She subconsciously took two steps back and said sarcastically, “Personally, I don’t advocate premarital sex. I hope you respect my choice.”

“Sorry.” Xu Fang pulled her back and said calmly, “I’m not the kind of person who likes to respect others.”

Lin Xichi: “…”

Lin Xichi felt that Xu Fang was really acting strangely today.

Otherwise, why couldn’t she refute him at all, not even a single sentence?

Lin Xichi pursed her lips and couldn’t be bothered with him anymore. She stuffed the box in her hand into his, then bypassed him, her footsteps sounding hurried as she tried to run back to her room.

She hadn’t run far when Xu Fang caught her and pressed her into his arms.

Xu Fang lowered his head, as if he were smiling, his breath warming her neck, with a crisp, minty scent that felt both passionate and scorching.

“Why are you running away?”

Lin Xichi looked up at him seriously and said, “I feel like you’re acting a bit abnormal today.”

“Hmm.” Xu Fang bent over, picked her up, and walked towards the bedroom. He repeated a sentence she had said before in a low voice, “Twenty-four years old, can’t endure it anymore, will get sick.”

“…”

Lin Xichi was almost at a loss for words. It was the first time she had seen a man behave like this when in the throes of passion.

Xu Fang entered the bedroom, kicked the door shut with force, and placed Lin Xichi on the bed. He calmly walked to the window, pulled the curtains shut, but his gaze remained fixed on her.

In his deep eyes, there seemed to be emotions churning, difficult to contain.

Lin Xichi silently tucked herself under the covers, finding it difficult to accept the transformation of a man who had been so old-fashioned a few days ago, now appearing as if he had spent decades in the nightlife scene, exuding sensuality.

“What’s going on with you…”

He licked his lips and, after a moment of contemplation, walked to the door and turned off the main light, leaving only a small night light on. “What else can I do?”

Lin Xichi’s eyes rolled around as she said seriously, “I don’t think it’s as simple as I thought.”

“It’s exactly as you thought.”

“But I wanted to sleep with you before,” Lin Xichi rolled under the covers, wrapping herself into a cocoon. “You acted as if your chastity was being taken away, and you were on the verge of life and death.”

“I really was on the verge of life and death,” Xu Fang walked over and sat next to her, patiently unwrapping her from the covers. “You kept moving around beside me, making me hard all night.”

“…”

Lin Xichi was stunned by his words.

She pushed him away, scooting back, and turned into a cocoon again, speaking to him with a tone that sounded like she was negotiating. “Well, Mr. Butt, I hope you can speak more civilized.”

“Okay,” Xu Fang pulled her back again, “I’ll be civilized after you get out of bed.”

This time, Lin Xichi didn’t resist, and she was curious. “Why did you suddenly change your mind? I calculated the time, and we’ll be able to get married soon… At the latest, next New Year’s.”

Xu Fang sneered, “If I endure for another hour, I’ll consider myself a fool.”

“…” Lin Xichi stared at him, nodding, “You’ve been a fool for six years.”

Xu Fang didn’t bother arguing with her. He pulled her out of the covers and ran his calloused fingers over her skin.

Lin Xichi felt strangely amused and couldn’t help but move away, giggling, “It tickles.”

Xu Fang slowly raised his head, looking down at her with dark eyes, his lips glistening, his long eyelashes trembling slightly. The dim light made it difficult to discern his emotions.

Her face had a smile, her eyes were clear and pure, as if she could encompass his entire being. Her fair skin had a rosy blush from the recent shower, and her hair tips were still slightly damp.

Back in college, he had thought she was too young and didn’t want to, nor did he want to see her doing these things. Later, when he was pursuing his master’s degree, he was afraid that he would be assigned to some remote place after graduation, and that she would have to come a long way to find him, which would tire her out and make her regret it.

But looking at her like this now, he still felt like she had never grown up.

She looked innocent and carefree, even in her current disheveled state, she seemed like an inexperienced little girl.

However, at this moment, all that reluctance, all that caution, and all those little restraints had turned into nothingness after years of restraint.

Xu Fang lowered his head and kissed her lips, tracing the outline of her lips with his tongue.

In the dimly lit room, she was entangled in the military-green sheets, her hair messy, and her body contrasting sharply with the color of the sheets.

She looked like a fairy sent by heaven to destroy his sanity.

Xu Fang’s gaze was fixed on her body, his pitch-black eyes growing darker, and his reason was slowly being devoured. The corners of his eyes turned crimson, and he suddenly chuckled, and his scorching breath enveloped her.

This sensation was so unfamiliar.

Lin Xichi’s voice was hoarse, her eyes reddened, and she sniffed as she asked, “Is it not over yet?”

Xu Fang laughed softly, “You’re done, and you don’t care about me anymore?”

Lin Xichi stared at his movements, sneaked a glance, and then pulled her eyes back like a guilty child, saying softly, “I think your… well…”

“…”

Her voice was soft and coquettish, and she seemed to be making fun of him. “It’s not very good-looking.”

Xu Fang didn’t respond, he leaned closer to her again, and said in a cold tone, “Endure it.”

She was tender, her slightly spoiled sobbing voice, every aspect of her was tormenting Xu Fang’s sanity, arousing his ferocity.

He was like pulling her down into hell with him.

Time seemed to pass without end as he let out a soft groan, breathing heavily. His tongue flicked over her tear-stained cheek, then captured her lips, as if seeking to comfort her.

Lin Xichi clung to his neck, her head lowered, silent.

The sound of Xu Fang’s rapid breathing became urgent as he leaned in closer, near her ear, and let out a low, husky chuckle, his voice carrying a seductive tone, “Say I can’t do it?”

A shiver ran through Lin Xichi’s body, and her face buried deeper into his chest.

He seemed addicted to his own audacity as he continued, “Say I’m incapable?”

Lin Xichi didn’t have the energy or the inclination to argue with him. She pushed his head away, her grip feeble, and started to whimper softly, “I want to take a shower.”

Xu Fang responded softly, “Sure, whatever you say,” as he lifted her up.

“Mmm, you call the shots.”

The next day, Lin Xichi had to work in the morning, but surprisingly, she lingered until half-past eight before getting up. She hurriedly finished her morning routine, grabbed a piece of bread from the table, took a bite, and then downed a glass of milk.

She turned around and happened to see Xu Fang looking refreshed. She pursed her lips and didn’t pay much attention to him.

Xu Fang’s daily routine had been firmly established during his three years in military school. So, even though he had slept late last night, he still got up at his usual time of half-past six in the morning. After his morning run, he brought breakfast for Lin Xichi when he returned home.

After returning home, Xu Fang had nothing to do, so he started tidying up the house until it was time to wake her up.

Lin Xichi put on her shoes by the door and said, “I’m heading out.”

Xu Fang responded with a simple “Okay” and walked over to her, casually putting on his shoes as well.

“I’ll walk you there.”

On the way, Lin Xichi walked at a brisk pace, but halfway through, she realized that she didn’t need to rush as much as she thought, so she slowed down.

Xu Fang followed her, looking relaxed as if he were taking a leisurely stroll.

Lin Xichi glanced at him and cleared her throat, saying, “Do you feel like our relationship has changed a bit?”

“What kind of change?”

“From a pure spiritual level,” Lin Xichi touched his arm with her fingertips and muttered, “to a dirty physical relationship.”

Xu Fang raised his eyes slightly and said softly, “I can get even dirtier.”

“…” Lin Xichi suddenly looked around as if she didn’t want anyone else to hear, “Have you been reading explicit content behind my back?”

Xu Fang chuckled, “Can you digest that stuff?”

“Oh.” Lin Xichi withdrew her gaze thoughtfully and nodded, “You’re right. There’s always a gap between novels and reality.”

Xu Fang remained silent.

At the hospital, Lin Xichi greeted her colleagues and changed into her work clothes before getting into work mode. Her last task before leaving for the day was to administer a vaccine to an adult female cat.

This cat had previously been a stray and had one of its legs broken by someone unknown. It was later adopted by its current owner. The cat was very wary of strangers and would puff up its fur almost instantly when approached.

Despite the help of several intern doctors and nurses, Lin Xichi was inadvertently scratched on the arm, leaving a thin, long blood mark from her wrist to her elbow.

Lin Xichi furrowed her brows and, after administering the vaccine, went to a corner to tend to her wound.

The wound was shallow and not too painful.

Lin Xichi didn’t pay it much mind.

Xu Fang waited for her outside the hospital.

It was summer, and he quickly noticed the wound on her hand. His expression darkened, and he grabbed her wrist, asking, “How did you get this?”

Upon hearing his question, Lin Xichi took a look, “Oh, I was accidentally scratched by a cat.”

Seeing her downplaying it, Xu Fang pursed his lips, “Have you been injured like this before?”

“No,” Lin Xichi thought for a moment, recalling a previous incident, “But I was bitten by a dog once. The owner said the dog was very gentle, so I didn’t use a muzzle, but then it bit me. Fortunately, it didn’t break the skin.”

Xu Fang’s gaze remained fixed on her wound, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because it wasn’t serious,” Lin Xichi replied, then remembered something else, and made a disapproving noise, “You also got injured during training and didn’t tell me.”

Xu Fang looked at her expressionlessly, “Are you competing with me?”
