How Much for a Pound of Cuteness – Chapter 76

[NOTE: MATURE CONTENT]

The night was deep and the bedroom was quiet. Chu Zhi tugged at his collar, sobbing and whimpering with soft kitten-like sounds. Lu Jiaheng braced both hands on the bed, head slightly lowered.

She had pulled two buttons loose from his shirt, revealing the smooth lines of his shoulders that rose and fell slightly with his breathing.

“Where does it hurt…” he asked.

Chu Zhi’s mind was hazy and she couldn’t articulate where the discomfort was, only feeling that something wasn’t right throughout her body. She shook her head randomly, seeking him with her misty eyes.

Her soft small hands pulled out his shirt that was tucked into his waistband, reaching under to touch him aimlessly, trailing from his chest muscles to his firm abdomen, down to where his Adonis belt showed at the edge.

As her fingertips touched his lower abdomen, Lu Jiaheng grabbed her exploring hand.

She struggled lightly a couple times but couldn’t break free.

Her upper body, covered in crystalline droplets, trembled continuously in the cold air.

Her slender pale legs wrapped around his waist, her knees rubbing restlessly. Not knowing what she wanted, she cried out his name in discomfort.

Lu Jiaheng grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head, gripping her wrists as he leaned down low.

His burning lips pressed against her delicate eyelids as he spoke in a hoarse voice, “Listen to me, Chu Chu, don’t cry. The discomfort will pass soon…”

She tried to open her eyes, her wet lashes trembling.

As he leaned down, his shirt fabric brushed against tender skin, causing her small frame to shiver uncontrollably as she let out soft crying sounds.

Lu Jiaheng held her wrists with one hand while the other traced down her waist. His finger hooked the lacy fabric downward, then his fingertip pressed against her directly, gradually pushing in.

Her cries heightened as her soft body trembled and arched, unconsciously moving closer to him, pressing into his hand. Lu Jiaheng let out a heavy breath.

Never had any moment been harder to resist, nor had his impulses ever been stronger. But she was drunk. She wasn’t clear-headed.

He wanted what was between them to be her true desire when clear-headed. He wanted to see her embrace him, kiss him, with her beautiful eyes filled with only him, feeling him as she cried out his name.

Lu Jiaheng closed his eyes briefly, then opened them. He moved carefully, his actions controlled yet gentle, not daring to go further. After a moment, she tensed up beneath him.

Chu Zhi freed one hand from his grip, her fingertips digging deep into his shoulder. Her feet arched taut, her toes curling one by one. She opened her eyes wide, staring blankly at the white ceiling. Lu Jiaheng withdrew his hand, his palm wet with clear liquid.

Lu Jiaheng wiped his hand on a corner of the bedsheet, then lowered his head to kiss away the tears at the corners of her eyes. “It’s okay… it’s okay, Chu Chu is so good…” Chu Zhi took small breaths, her shoulders still trembling from crying so hard earlier.

Lu Jiaheng turned over, pulled the blanket over, and wrapped her entire body in it as he held her in his arms, patting her back soothingly. She curled up in his embrace, quietly sobbing. She was wrapped up completely with only her face showing, her eyelashes trembling as they remained tightly closed, her breathing slowly returning to normal.

Lu Jiaheng held her as he sat back against the headboard. He reached over to turn on the bedside lamp and looked down at her.

She had fallen asleep. Her lips were broken where he had bitten them, with a spot of dried blood.

Her eyes were slightly swollen from crying, the corners red, and her tear-stained face still held a flush. She looked utterly pitiful, as if she had been bullied terribly.

Lu Jiaheng adjusted the blanket around her neck carefully. Feeling regretful at the marks he had left, he gently placed her on the bed and went to retrieve the first aid kit from the cabinet in the living room.

She slept deeply as he sat beside the bed, using cotton swabs and disinfectant to tend to her. When the disinfectant touched sensitive areas, she whimpered softly in her sleep and tried to curl up, but her arms were wrapped tightly in the blanket. He worked carefully to clean and treat the tender skin.

Lu Jiaheng focused intently on his task, though his hands remained gentle as he carefully cleaned and bandaged the tender areas. His jaw was tense as he worked with careful precision.

Chu Zhi furrowed her brows, turning her head against the pillow and mumbling something indistinct.

Lu Jiaheng set aside the first aid kit and went to the bathroom to dampen a towel with warm water. He then gently loosened the blanket to help clean her up with careful movements.

A gentle pass of the warm towel made her giggle softly. Her eyes opened just slightly, giving him a hazy glance before she nuzzled closer to him and drifted back to peaceful sleep.

After tending to her all evening, he watched as she slumbered peacefully, completely unaware of his restless state.

Lu Jiaheng could only grind his teeth in frustration.

When she next wakes, he promised himself he would definitely make her cry until she couldn’t speak. Though Chu Zhi started out sleeping peacefully, later she began to have a long dream.

At first the dream was normal – she sat at the edge of a swimming pool, kicking her feet in the water. When she turned around, a man wearing only swim trunks walked toward her. His physique was incredible – defined chest, abs, biceps, and deep grooves forming his Adonis belt. He was handsome too, with dark eyes and upturned peach blossom eyes, his thin lips curved in a smile. The man gave her a languid smile, his long fingers hooking the edge of his swim trunks as if about to pull them down. He was about to become completely naked. Dream Chu Zhi let out a shriek and fell into the pool with a splash.

Real Chu Zhi startled awake. Her eyes flew open as she sat up abruptly, still shaken. Her vision remained unfocused as she stared straight ahead for several seconds before slowly coming to her senses.

It was early morning, with dim light filtering through the heavy curtains. The bedroom was dark and warm, with drapes completely drawn between the bedroom and living room spaces. After three seconds, Chu Zhi realized she was in Lu Jiaheng’s home.

Her head hurt slightly. She rubbed her temples and looked down – she was wearing a white cotton t-shirt with no bra underneath. The soft fabric brushed against her left breast, causing a sharp pain. Chu Zhi pulled at the shirt collar to look inside.

She saw marks all over herself, with a bandage on her chest. Chu Zhi: “…” Chu Zhi: ???? Her eyes widened as she quickly pulled up the blanket and turned her head sharply.

Lu Jiaheng was lying beside her, already awake, propped up on his arm watching her expressionlessly. Chu Zhi trembled, her lips pale as she stared at him with wide eyes: “Lu-Lu-Lu Jiaheng…”

She sat confused on the bed, her thoughts scattered. The scene before her contained too much information to process at once. The man remained silent and expressionless, his dark eyes unreadable in the dim light. After a moment, he finally spoke softly: “Headache?”

Chu Zhi stared at him blankly, still not fully grasping the situation, and nodded instinctively in response. Lu Jiaheng’s lips curved slightly as he said “Oh… serves you right. Keep drinking like that.”

Chu Zhi: “…” Chu Zhi: ?

For some reason, she felt Lu Jiaheng’s gaze held a hint of melancholy, though he seemed fine otherwise. She looked him up and down – he wore pajamas and lay on his side at the edge of the bed, watching her without expression.

Compared to him, she was in worse shape. Her clothes, her body, and even a bandage on her chest. Chu Zhi didn’t want to know how that happened.

She looked at Lu Jiaheng again. This wasn’t right. Even though it was him, and maybe that made it okay, but – it was too intimate. Such an intimate thing, happening when she wasn’t even aware, before she was sure if she was ready.

Chu Zhi stared at him blankly, her lips parted and eyes growing red. Her whole face flushed as she quickly pulled the blanket up and burrowed underneath, curling into a ball.

Lu Jiaheng froze. After a pause, he sat up and tried to pull back the blanket: “Chu Chu-“

Chu Zhi held the blanket corners tightly from inside, crying out: “What! What! Don’t talk to me!”

She gripped the edges firmly, pressing them down all around like a turtle retreating into its shell, wrapping herself up completely motionless.

Through the blanket, Lu Jiaheng poked her gently with one finger: “Aren’t you getting stuffy wrapped up so tightly?”

Chu Zhi ignored him, pulling the blanket even tighter without responding. He reached out and poked her again. This time, a soft sobbing sound finally came from inside.

Lu Jiaheng was stunned. Taking a deep breath, he said gently: “Chu Zhi, come out first.”

Chu Zhi just twisted around under the blanket, sniffling silently.

He sighed helplessly: “I didn’t do anything last night.”

Chu Zhi paused, then said in a muffled voice: “You’re lying.”

“I cried so hard last night,” she said hoarsely with a stuffy nose. “I’m not stupid. Look at the state I’m in – you even put a bandage on me. Why not wrap me in gauze while you’re at it!”

Her voice held a childish accusation. Lu Jiaheng couldn’t help but laugh at her pouty tone: “Well, I was worried wrapping you up might flatten things.”

“…”

Chu Zhi was furious with embarrassment. She spun around under the blanket, turning her back to him. One leg stuck out as she kicked at him with her delicate foot: “Shut up! You jerk!”

Lu Jiaheng dodged and caught her ankle: “That mark was my mistake, but I really took care of things myself in the end, honestly.”

Chu Zhi pulled her foot back and fell silent.

He reached out and patted the small bundle under the blanket: “I’m sorry. If you don’t want to, I won’t do anything in the future, okay?”

Several minutes later, Chu Zhi slowly turned back around, poking her head out from under the blanket.

Her face was bright red as her big eyes darted around, looking at him then away, then back at him again. She said softly: “It’s not that I don’t want to, and it’s not about whether you… finished or not…”

Lu Jiaheng looked down at her.

She couldn’t meet his eyes again, lowering her head in embarrassment: “I just think that this kind of… this kind of thing…” She couldn’t find the right words, and after a long while, she mumbled, “How could you look at that place… and you even…”

And he had left marks.

It was too embarrassing to continue.

Lu Jiaheng watched her quietly, then suddenly smiled.

She was so shy.

What would he do if she stayed this shy forever?

He licked his lips and leaned closer, supporting himself on the bed as he deliberately said: “It’s beautiful. Every part of you is beautiful, just as cute as you are.”

He said these words so calmly, but Chu Zhi felt like she was about to explode. Her face turned bright red as she stared at him with wide eyes, raising her hands to cover her ears.

He moved faster than her, gripping her wrists and pulling her out from under the blanket. With last night’s scenes still vivid in his mind, his eyes darkened and his voice grew hoarse: “Because you were too cute, I accidentally bit too hard.”
