Married to the Protagonist – Chapter 14

Stunned.

Chen Jinyao was like a cat whose tail was stepped on. She, in a hurry, gathered her loose bathrobe to cover herself. But in her haste, she tugged it and caused it to slip down instead.

The more anxious she was, the more flustered her actions. The more flustered her actions, the more anxious she was. Protecting herself, with her face flushed red, she bit her lip and screamed: “Get out!”

It sounded like angry embarrassment.

Yan Cheng only felt his throat itch, and stood motionless by the door.

“Close your eyes and get out!” Seeing him like this aggravated Chen Jinyao even more. She grabbed a nearby pillow without hesitation and threw it over without mercy.

However, due to the momentum created from the throw, her loosely tied bathrobe slipped down, revealing one fair shoulder, half concealed and half exposed.

Yan Cheng saw her staring at him wide eyed. He felt she was hooking him in like a seductive little fox spirit amidst the innocence.

Under the bright lamp, there was an awkward atmosphere.

Chen Jinyao let out a sharp screamed. The little “fox spirit” simply laid down, covering and burrowing her body under the blanket. She kept grabbing about but failed to grab any corners of the blanket. She raised her head, with her ears completely red. Within Yan Cheng’s line fo sight, he only saw her unconsciously rub her inner thighs for a second. Then her red lips parted, shouting again: “Get out get out get out!”

“…”

Yan Cheng lowered his eyes, hiding the darkness within. It took him some time to find his voice again. “Oh.”, he said, as he painfully turned to leave.

His ears were reddened, his heart thudding loudly. The game about to start on TV also failed to pique his interest.

With her long lashes fluttering, her slender white arm reached out to grab a bottle of the body lotion. She still intended to continue her interrupted skincare routine.

After all, skin was prone to dryness in the winter and flaky skin was uncomfortable.

But this time, she locked the door first.

Chen Jinyao picked up the bottle and placed it within sight. Then she slowly tied her bathrobe closed with difficulty. But just halfway through tying it, she was caught completely unprepared when Yan Cheng unexpectedly returned to break in again.

She didn’t even have time to get up and lock the door.

“……”

At the moment, she felt like a fish on a chopping board, a lamb bound on the altar awaiting slaughter.

She tried to take initiative instead of passively waiting, or at least turn on her defensive mechanisms. But her knee buckled onto her bathrobe, immediately loosening it once more. In an instant, it felt like all her efforts were wasted.

Chen Jinyao’s eyes opened wide in shock. He was dumbstruck.

The next second, in desperation, she chose her only way out — dignifiedly laying down and bundling herself in the blanket to hide her momentary exposure.

With a snap, the bright lamplight in the bedroom suddenly vanished. It changed instead to dimmer, orangish small lights, also somewhat indescribably ambiguous.

The culprit Yan Cheng slowly walked over, sprawling down on Chen Jinyao’s side. He turned his face. Eyes like ink peering at her deeply for a good while. Then he chuckled out a laugh, the laughter emanating from his chest brimming with delight.

“Chen Jinyao” He called her full name. The latter half of what he wanted to say stuck in his teeth. After a few seconds, “You’re actually pretty cute.”

“I feel like your compliments to me aren’t sincere.” Chen Jinyao shifted sideways, keeping distance between them as she remained highly vigilant.

There’s a saying that men bearing gifts were up to no good1. When a men says sweet words to a woman in bed, one should be especially wary of the ulterior motives hiding behind the honeyed words.

Moreover, Chen Jinyao truly had some doubts about the term “cute”.

All thanks to her extremely keen sixth sense!!!

The man raised a brow. After some thought he said, “Hm. Your continuous behavior from before, makes me feel that you’re actually quite silly.”

“……………………” Looks like someone has a death wish.

Chen Jinyao didn’t know how things suddenly progressed to this point.

She was just dazedly having her back stroked like Duni, while her brain gradually blanked. She vaguely considered the feasibility of a man and woman lying on bed, under a blanket, just chatting.

But one must always be vigilant against a man’s sudden overtures in bed.

Because of her earlier actions in applying lotion, Yan Cheng voluntarily took over. Saying he could help apply it to her back since that area was hard for her to reach herself. The man’s words were sincere, even righteous. He convinced her.

“I won’t take advantage of you.” Yan Cheng cleared his throat, eyes darting. “If I really wanted to take advantage, I wouldn’t have waited till today.”

Chen Jinyao watched him with suspicion and wariness.

But no matter how wary she was, it was still useless against his glib tongue.

It was unfortunate Yan Cheng didn’t do xiangsheng2 comedy routines. He was actually able to stupidly convince her to crawl out of her blanket nest. Slowly untie her bathrobe and lower it, completely exposing her back as she obediently lied prone for him to have his way.

Under the orangish light, Chen Jinyao silently turned red.

Calloused fingertips lightly grazed her spine. The fine skin of Chen Jinyao against the touch of the slight roughness of Yan Cheng’s hands triggered waves of numb tingling.

Unhurriedly deliberate, Yan Cheng was obviously teasing her intentionally.

Chen Jinyao frowned, “Just smear it randomly twice, that’s enough.”

Before she even finished speaking, the man suddenly pushed her down, nibbling her earlobe. He lightly laughed out an “heh”, the humid hot air brushed past her ear making Chen Jinyao’s entire body quiver. She subconsciously shrank away to the side.

The next second she turned entirely red like a boiled shrimp.

“Yan Cheng where are you putting your hands!!!” Chen Jinyao was furious.

The development seemed to exceed expectations, yet also as if things were bound to develop this way.

Fragmented kisses all landed on her nape. Yan Cheng’s voice was hoarse. “I searched up another method to treat period pains.” He paused, half coaxing her he asked, “Want to give it a try?”

Upon hearing this Chen Jinyao didn’t even think, “I don’t want to.”

“Tsk.” She pushed at his arm. “You…be gentler.”

Yan Cheng felt half his soul leave him. He raised a brow, pretending not to hear. Breathing heavily, he brushed aside her long hair. Bowing his head he kissed her flushed cheeks. She was in full blossom, the watery eyes looking at him made his heart thump loudly. He tensed his jaw, pursing his lips as he softly coaxed her: “Wife, let’s……” do it.

The last two words stopped at his throat, blocked by the sudden ringing doorbell.

It had to be admitted, at that moment there were thousands upon thousands of galloping alpacas trampling Yan Cheng’s heart. Not only stampeding his frantically accelerating heart, they were also merrily singing a song as if mocking his misfortune.

The lust driven man’s complexion turned somewhat ugly.

He buried his face in defeat against Chen Jinyao’s neck and nuzzled at it frustratedly. After a few seconds, he planned on dismissing it as having “misheard”.

Whoever it was, pretend they weren’t home.

Yan Cheng hoped the person standing outside his door could understand to tactfully retreat.

He kissed Chen Jinyao’s earlobe.

Also unwilling to let go, he planned to continue.

Then the doorbell rang again.

Sharply and continuously.

Chen Jinyao panted, struggling to push him but to no avail, “Doorbell……”

“You misheard.” Yan Cheng’s face was taut as he righteously declared, “I didn’t hear anything.”

“……” Chen Jinyao gave him a “get real” look. “Did you ask your good buddies over to watch the game together?”

“Speaking of which, the sound insulation of our house is a bit lacking.”

It wasn’t a lie. Yan Cheng nodded solemnly in agreement, “Indeed.”

After a brief silence, Chen Jinyao sighed, “Stop indeed-ing, go open the door.”

“I won’t go. I’m not presentable to see anyone now.” Yan Cheng squinted at her. He grasped her hand intertwining their fingers. Murmuring, “You aren’t either.”

It was probably because they dawdled too long.

Dawdling until the doorbell stopped ringing. Abruptly all sound ceased outside.

Yan Cheng’s brow quirked up, eyes narrowed in pleasure.

They didn’t even get a chance to feel happy yet.

Then the next second, Chen Jinyao’s phone started ringing.

“……” Yan Cheng gritted his teeth, holding Chen Jinyao’s hand down to prevent her from moving.

After a brief stalemate, “Heh.”

Sensing the man’s emotional fluctuations with an easy guess at what caused them, Chen Jinyao bent her eyes hiding her gloating. She pursed her lips, patting him comfortingly, “Plenty of time later on.”
