Jiang Qian was stunned for a moment, then shook her head. “No, I’m not playing favorites.”

Xu Si looked at her. “Little teacher isn’t playing favorites, it’s just that your whole heart has gone crooked towards Yuan Yuan.”

After saying this, he felt sour at his own words.

Hearing this, Jiang Qian’s ears grew warm. “No, I favor you.”

Hearing these words, Xu Si smiled with extreme pleasure. “I also have a Christmas gift for little teacher.”

He pulled out a bag he had prepared earlier from his drawer and handed it to Jiang Qian.

“Open it and see.”

Xu Si had never bought things for girls before, but when he saw this scarf at the mall earlier, he wanted to buy it for Jiang Qian.

He thought it would suit her well.

Jiang Qian pulled it out – it was a pure white rabbit fur scarf that felt very soft. She smiled at Xu Si, “I really like it.”

As she spoke, she wrapped the scarf around her neck.

She was wearing a light pink down jacket today, which matched perfectly with the white scarf. Her skin was already fair, and the scarf made her small face look pink and white, appearing soft and gentle.

Xu Si looked at her and evaluated seriously: “This scarf really suits you.”

Jiang Qian smiled: “I really like it.”

Jiang Qian received many Christmas gifts that day.

She had also prepared a Christmas gift for Jiang Zhixu, though she would have to go to the store after school to give it to her.

Unexpectedly, right after lunch when they returned, Jiang Qian saw the person she wanted to see most at the entrance.

Jiang Zhixu called out to her: “Qiao Qiao.”

“Ah Xu! Why are you here?”

“It’s Christmas today! I can’t let my little one not receive my Christmas gift.”

Jiang Zhixu handed her the things in her hand: “The scarf around your neck looks quite nice.”

“My desk mate gave it to me.”

“Male or female desk mate? Is it still the same desk mate as before?”

“Male desk mate, still him.”

Jiang Zhixu knew Jiang Qian was a person who knew her boundaries: “Then Qiao Qiao can tell me more another day.”

“Okay.” Jiang Qian smiled at her and asked: “Ah Xu, aren’t you cold wearing just one coat?”

Jiang Zhixu shook her head: “Not cold. My little one is always worried about me.” She handed another bag to Jiang Qian: “The fruit is a bit cold, don’t eat too much at once. I’m worried about your stomach.”

“Okay.” Jiang Qian took everything in her hands.

“Scholar Jiang!” Yang Shikun’s excited voice came from behind.

Jiang Qian smiled at him.

Jiang Zhixu immediately noticed Xu Si among the three.

The young man was taller than the other two, with more outstanding features, neat black hair, and excellent bone structure. He wore a black short down jacket with a beige sweater underneath, and school uniform pants wrapping his long legs.

Jiang Zhixu noticed his expression was cold, looking at people with a sense of distance, but when he looked at Jiang Qian, his gaze became somewhat gentler.

“Ah Xu, this is my desk mate and his friends.”

Xu Si looked at Jiang Zhixu: “Xu Si.”

“Jiang Zhixu.”

“Beautiful women really do have beautiful friends.” Yang Shikun spoke up.

Jiang Zhixu was amused by him: “Your classmate is quite the sweet talker.”

Jiang Qian smiled.

Yang Shikun was naturally friendly: “Just stating facts.”

Xu Si said to Jiang Qian: “Let’s go in, little desk mate.”

Jiang Qian responded: “Okay.”

The three went inside.

“Ah Xu, wait a moment, I’ll go get your gift.”

She went to the classroom to get the gift.

She handed the bag to Jiang Zhixu, containing a scarf and a pair of soft cashmere gloves.

Jiang Zhixu took out the scarf: “How did you know I needed a scarf for my neck?” She put it on as she spoke.

“It looks good.”

Jiang Zhixu pinched Jiang Qian’s cheek: “My baby is always so sweet.”

“How long until winter break? Do you have holidays?”

Jiang Zhixu thought for a moment, then said: “Probably not. There might be more photoshoot appointments during the New Year period.”

“Oh, okay.”

“But I’ll definitely make time to spend with you.” Jiang Zhixu ruffled her hair and watched as students continued to enter: “They’re all going in, you should go too, little one.”

Jiang Qian looked back: “Okay.”

She waved to Jiang Zhixu and went into class.

Jiang Zhixu had given her a fluffy hat, along with her favorite candies and cakes.

After school, Jiang Qian looked worriedly at the things in her drawer. Xu Si saw and said: “Little teacher, need help?”

Though it was a question, Xu Si didn’t wait for her answer before taking the things from her hands.

Jiang Qian said softly: “Thank you.”

“Still saying thank you?”

“Then, you’re welcome.”

Yang Shikun looked at Xu Si, then at Jiang Qian, very consciously: “Brother Si, Big Head and I will go first. You take Scholar Jiang home.”

Xu Si made a sound of agreement.

Xu Si carried her things in his hands and her pink bag on his shoulder.

Jiang Qian’s bag wasn’t small, fitting her perfectly, but it looked a bit small on him.

Jiang Qian held the cake Jiang Zhixu bought her, walking beside Xu Si. She looked at all the bags in his hands: “Isn’t it heavy?”

Xu Si tilted his head to look at her: “Not heavy at all, this is nothing.”

“Hey, hey, hey, you two students in front, stop right there!”

Xu Si heard the familiar voice behind him and stopped.

He Guoshi pushed his glasses up and looked at Xu Si, then at the girl beside him: “Although the school hasn’t forbidden contact between male and female students, aren’t you two being too blatant?”

“Director He, her things are too many, is it wrong for me to help carry them? Didn’t you say classmates should unite and help each other?”

He Guoshi glared at him: “Excuses, all excuses.”

He finished speaking and stared at Jiang Qian for a while, feeling this young girl looked familiar.

Jiang Qian looked at He Guoshi: “Director, we’re desk mates. It’s Christmas today, and I have too many things, so he’s helping me carry some.”

He Guoshi slapped his forehead as he remembered who this girl was.

She was the girl who had transferred to Class 17 and ranked third in the whole school.

Many teachers wanted to take her from Fang Zixin and had mentioned it to him several times, but he felt they should respect the girl’s wishes, and then he seemed to have forgotten about it.

She was now desk mates with Xu Si, and not only had her grades not declined, but she had helped improve Xu Si’s grades. That wasn’t bad at all.

Xu Si looked at He Guoshi who had fallen silent and seemed lost in thought: “So, Director He, can we go now?”
