Yu Nuo was momentarily stunned.
After saying those words, Chen Yuzheng buried his head in her neck, moving down slightly, and mischievously nuzzled her with his nose tip.
Almost immediately, Yu Nuo was startled and pushed him away, scrambling to jump down from Chen Yuzheng’s lap. In her panic, she stepped on his foot.
“Ouch—”
Chen Yuzheng let out a pained groan.
Yu Nuo was frightened and stepped forward, “Are… are you okay?”
After being pushed away, Chen Yuzheng casually leaned back against the chair. His gaze lingered on Yu Nuo, observing her flustered state for a moment before giving a lazy smile. It was as if his previous heartbreak and dejection had all been an illusion.
“I’m fine.” Chen Yuzheng stood up and said slowly, “Let’s go, I’ll take you home.”
She had just reacted like she’d seen a ghost, her whole body showing rejection. Chen Yuzheng reined in his playful demeanor and didn’t say anything more inappropriate.
On the way back to the base to get the car, Yu Nuo walked beside Chen Yuzheng as he held her hand.
Neither spoke, and an indistinct awkwardness hung in the air. She turned her head, secretly observing his expression for a while.
He looked quite calm.
Yu Nuo felt somewhat relieved, but couldn’t help feeling guilty.
Just now, had her reaction been too extreme?
Their relationship was already established, and some intimacy between lovers was normal. Besides holding hands, hugging and kissing, Chen Yuzheng at most would say things without a filter, but he had never actually done anything inappropriate to her.
Although he occasionally flirted with her and teased her, including saying things about how her kisses affected him… but he only ever talked about it, and even when kissing, Chen Yuzheng’s hands were always properly behaved, never wandering under her clothes.
Last time at her home, that rainy morning, they were kissing on the sofa. At Yu Nuo’s age, while she had no experience with intimacy, she wasn’t completely naive about such matters from what she had learned indirectly.
Their bodies were almost completely pressed together, and she very clearly felt something. His breathing was hot and humid against her ear, carrying desire and restraint.
Yu Nuo’s mind was in complete chaos at the time, and she had even mentally prepared herself, but Chen Yuzheng did nothing beyond kissing, still showing self-control and restraint, never making any other demands.
…
…
Chen Yuzheng glanced at her and called out: “Fish lover.”
Her thoughts abruptly interrupted, Yu Nuo cleared away those intimate images and pretended to respond calmly: “What?”
Chen Yuzheng leaned down slightly, staring at her, “What naughty things are you thinking about? Your face is all red.”
Yu Nuo reflexively raised her hand to touch her face, saying nervously: “Really? Am I… am I blushing?”
Getting more flustered, her voice unconsciously lowered, “Maybe it’s just the heat.”
Chen Yuzheng wasn’t so easily fooled, asking: “Are you very hot?”
Yu Nuo reflexively shook her head, shook it for a while, then nodded. She didn’t even know what she was doing anymore.
Seeing her distracted state, Chen Yuzheng asked: “Did I scare you?”
Yu Nuo made an “ah” sound.
Chen Yuzheng paused for a moment, unusually reflecting on his earlier behavior.
Perhaps doing such things to a young girl in public really did make him seem quite inappropriate.
Chen Yuzheng glanced at her a few times and sincerely promised: “If you don’t agree in the future, or if you don’t like it… I won’t do that anymore, okay?”
Yu Nuo: “……”
—
Back home, everything was dark. Yu Nuo turned on the living room chandelier switch.
She sent messages to both Yu Ge and Chen Yuzheng saying she was home, then put down her phone. Earlier outside, she really was hot and had sweated quite a bit, her back feeling sticky.
She went to the balcony to get a nightgown, then went to the bathroom to shower.
The shower head turned on, water spraying down on her face.
As steam spread, she closed her eyes. They had only been apart for a short while, but her mind was completely filled with Chen Yuzheng. Everything that happened when they were together, every word he said to her, every movement, every smile, was like fragments in a kaleidoscope, even the details carrying colorful hues.
After showering, Yu Nuo grabbed a towel, absentmindedly drying her body.
The square mirror in the bathroom faced her directly.
Yu Nuo’s drying movements slowed, one hand propped on the counter as she raised her arm to wipe away the fog on the mirror with her fingers.
In the hazy blur, her freshly washed hair hung loose, separated into several thin strands clinging to her shoulders and neck. Water droplets kept rolling down, the black hair contrasting sharply with her fair skin.
From her waist to chest, her figure slowly became visible.
Yu Nuo stared blankly at herself.
A few minutes later, as if suddenly awakening from some thought, she hurriedly looked away.
Back in her bedroom, Yu Nuo sat on the bed and picked up her charging phone.
Fu Yidong had sent her a message half an hour ago:
“What’s the situation with you two, is my idol okay?”
Yu Nuo: “I’m home”
Fu Yidong: “You came back so soon?”
Yu Nuo: “Mm”
Fu Yidong: “Sigh, I’m so depressed, want to voice chat?”
Yu Nuo leaned against the headboard, put on her earphones, “What’s wrong?”
“It’s because TG lost again today.” Fu Yidong sighed heavily, “The last game nearly made me sick, Fish is really too much, how could he steal like that??? Don’t you think he’s a sore loser, has he never won before! Actually stealing the base, my mood is completely ruined…”
After rambling complaints for a while, Fu Yidong suddenly stopped, “Oh crap, I forgot, he’s your brother.”
Yu Nuo smiled lightly: “It’s fine.”
“Forget it forget it, let’s not talk about this anymore. How are the TG people doing today? I really feel bad for my boys.” Fu Yidong’s voice sounded very worried, “And Chen Yuzheng, is he okay? How did you comfort him later?”
Yu Nuo had things on her mind and responded perfunctorily: “…I hugged him.”
“No kiss?”
Yu Nuo felt a bit helpless: “No.”
“Come on, why are you two so pure? Are you dating like elementary school kids?” Fu Yidong laughed wickedly, “Got any updates to share?”
Yu Nuo hesitated: “Actually… it’s not as pure as you think.”
“What?” Fu Yidong’s voice instantly went up, “Not that pure? So what did you do?”
Yu Nuo was too shy to tell her about those things, so she just glossed over it.
After chatting about various topics for a while, Yu Nuo couldn’t help asking quietly: “Dongdong, do you think my chest… might be…”
This question was really hard to ask, and it seemed quite strange to bring up.
She stopped speaking.
Fu Yidong was curious: “What about your chest?”
Actually, Yu Nuo had always been a bit insecure about her figure since she was young.
When she was little, after her parents divorced, Yu Jiang didn’t have the energy to take care of her. Because of Jiang Li, Qi Erlan didn’t like looking at her and Yu Ge, barely willing to speak to them at home, let alone take care of them in daily life.
Yu Nuo was in middle school, right when girls start growing taller. But no one bought her clothes, so she still wore old clothes from years ago. Compared to her peers, she developed earlier, and her clothes were always ill-fitting.
At that time, classmates were just beginning to have clear gender awareness, and some boys in class would stare at her chest, even girls would whisper about her behind her back.
It wasn’t until her desk mate couldn’t stand it anymore and said to her one day: “Your chest is so big, could you wear looser clothes? A few days ago someone said some really mean things to me about you.”
Yu Nuo didn’t understand at first and carefully asked: “What things?”
Her desk mate looked uncomfortable: “Saying you’re deliberately being provocative and stuff, just to seduce the boys in class.”
Yu Nuo’s face turned bright red as she stood frozen, feeling like she’d been struck by lightning.
She couldn’t even continue class and ran to the office to ask for leave, secretly crying in the bathroom for an entire period.
That night when she got home, she cried while telling Yu Ge about what happened.
The next day, Yu Ge borrowed money from classmates and took her to the mall to buy new clothes.
For several weeks afterward, Yu Nuo often had nightmares. In her dreams, people would gather behind her, pointing and laughing. After that incident, she became very afraid of anyone mentioning her chest, and would walk with hunched shoulders. In high school and even university, regardless of summer or winter, she would habitually wear a jacket whenever running during PE class.
Seeing her quiet on the other end, Fu Yidong pressed: “What about your chest?”
Yu Nuo bit the bullet and asked her question, “Just… do you think my chest might not look good…”
Fu Yidong: “…….?”
“What’s not good about it?”
Yu Nuo: “Too big, so not good looking.”
A few seconds later, Fu Yidong shouted: “Yu Nuo are you even human??? Are you trying to provoke us flat-chested girls?! I dream of having a chest as big as yours!!! How is it not good looking!”
Even through the phone you could feel Fu Yidong’s overwhelming resentment.
After scolding Yu Nuo, she calmed down a bit but felt something was off and asked, “Why are you suddenly asking if your chest looks good, did Chen Yuzheng do something?”
Yu Nuo fell silent.
Although she had scolded her, Fu Yidong understood Yu Nuo’s personality and knew she definitely wasn’t showing off, but genuinely felt insecure about her figure.
Fu Yidong patiently said: “You silly girl, there’s absolutely no need for body shame. Your chest is soft and white and very squeezable, even I as a girl am drooling, let alone guys? What, are you worried Chen Yuzheng won’t like it?”
Having hit the nail on the head, Yu Nuo blushed and stammered.
Fu Yidong said hatefully: “Why am I comforting you here, I’m the one who needs comfort!”
“But…” her laugh turned lewd, “When are you two going to sleep together? Let my idol experience how amazing a big-chested slim-waisted sister can be.”
Yu Nuo: “……”
After hanging up, she threw her phone aside, pulled up the air conditioner blanket and buried her face in her stuffed animal.
Because of Fu Yidong’s vulgar words, some not-safe-for-children images couldn’t help floating through her mind.
Although she had no experience in that area and didn’t know what it would feel like. But if Chen Yuzheng wanted to be more intimate, Yu Nuo seemed like she… wouldn’t resist.
While she was lost in these thoughts, there was suddenly a knock at the door and Yu Ge’s voice came through: “Are you asleep?”
Yu Nuo sat up quickly in bed: “Brother?”
“Mm.”
She got out of bed, casually put on a piece of clothing, and opened the door.
Yu Ge’s face was pale, with obvious signs of alcohol on him.
Yu Nuo let go of the doorknob: “Why did you come back?”
Yu Ge rubbed his temples, “They went out to play, I didn’t feel like moving so I came back.”
He turned to walk to his own room, his steps still a bit unsteady.
Looking like this, he probably got quite drunk at the victory celebration earlier. Yu Ge usually had irregular eating habits and was picky with food, so his stomach was particularly bad. Yu Nuo worried he’d feel unwell at night. While Yu Ge was showering, she went to the kitchen to make him some noodle soup.
The dining room light was warm yellow, and Yu Nuo sat across from Yu Ge, keeping him company while he ate.
Yu Ge suddenly seemed to remember something and put down his chopsticks, “Oh right, there’s something in the living room, help me get it.”
Yu Nuo made a sound of acknowledgment and obediently went to the living room.
There was a round gold medal on the coffee table, she picked it up and it felt heavy in her hand. Yu Nuo examined it in her palm for a moment before walking back, “Brother, is this it?”
Yu Ge was on the phone, glanced up briefly, “Mm.”
Yu Nuo was about to give it to him, “Should I put it here?”
He was talking business with someone on the phone and casually said: “Keep it, it’s for you.”
“For me?”
Yu Nuo flipped the medal over and looked carefully, there was a line of small text engraved: [2021 Summer Finals MVP]
Yu Ge glanced at her, switched hands holding the phone, “Go to your room first, I’ll talk to you in a bit.”
—
Yu Nuo didn’t know what Yu Ge wanted to tell her, lying in bed examining his MVP medal for a while.
The phone placed beside her suddenly vibrated.
Yu Nuo picked it up to look – it was a video call from Chen Yuzheng. She quickly put the medal aside, fixed her hair a bit, and answered.
There was some lag on the other end, then a ding sound as it connected. Half of Chen Yuzheng’s face appeared on her phone screen.
It was very dark on his end with little light, Yu Nuo looked carefully and realized he was still in the car. It had been an hour or two, she asked puzzled: “You’re still not back at the base?”
Chen Yuzheng turned off the engine, lowered the car window, and propped his head on one hand, saying casually: “Drove around the area for a bit.”
Remembering his previous racing behavior, Yu Nuo’s heart tightened again and she asked worriedly: “What’s wrong… are you still not feeling good?”
Chen Yuzheng made a sound of agreement.
She bent her legs, tentatively asking: “Still because of the match?”
“No.” Chen Yuzheng paused, “Because I made you angry earlier.”
“……”
Yu Nuo realized what he was referring to and immediately said: “I wasn’t angry.”
“How were you not angry?” Chen Yuzheng questioned, “When leaving, you wouldn’t even give me a kiss.”
“…….”
Yu Nuo thought about how to explain but was too embarrassed to speak. As both fell silent, there was another knock at the door, Yu Ge standing outside: “Can I come in?”
Yu Nuo hurriedly unplugged her earphones, responding, “Okay, wait.”
A few minutes later, Yu Ge pushed open the door, “Who were you just on the phone with?”
Yu Nuo choked for a few seconds, “A… friend.”
Yu Ge didn’t think much of it, pulled over a chair and sat down.
He rarely took on this sort of talking posture with her, and with Chen Yuzheng’s call still connected, Yu Nuo anxiously asked: “Brother, do you need something?”
“Want to talk with you.”
“Talk?” She unconsciously got a bit nervous, “About what?”
Yu Ge’s expression of disgust appeared: “About the person you like.”
Yu Nuo: “…….”
“Know why I gave you the medal?”
Yu Nuo shook her head.
“I don’t object to you having a boyfriend, as long as he’s a proper person.”
Yu Nuo held her breath, waiting for what he would say next.
Yu Ge pulled at the corner of his mouth: “However, if you like an LPL player… you saw that MVP medal?”
Yu Nuo: “?”
“When he can win one of those, then you can bring this up with me again, got it?”
Yu Nuo: “…….”
Yu Ge felt he hadn’t made himself clear enough and added: “Someone who can’t even beat me, what’s there to like about him? Still think he’s impressive?”
Yu Nuo was distracted, lowering her eyes, her hand reaching back trying to find her phone to end the video call.
She didn’t want Chen Yuzheng to hear these things.
Noticing her small movements, Yu Ge frowned slightly, “What are you doing? I’m not done talking.”
Yu Nuo stopped searching.
“Like TG’s AD.” Yu Ge specifically gave an example: “Just like today’s guy, who lost to me, my defeated opponent. I don’t approve.”
Yu Nuo looked up, nearly in tears, “This… but…”
“There are no buts.” Yu Ge felt there was no room for negotiation on this matter and stood up, “Unless you stop liking someone from LPL.”
With a bang, the bedroom door closed.
Yu Nuo sat stunned at the edge of her bed for a moment, then hurriedly lifted her blanket to grab the phone underneath. The video call was indeed still connected, though his image was gone.
His phone was probably placed on the center console, showing the car ceiling in the video. Yu Nuo called out: “Chen Yuzheng, are you still there?”
His voice came through: “Here.”
“I’m sorry.” Yu Nuo apologized guiltily, “Don’t take what my brother said to heart.”
Chen Yuzheng made a sound of acknowledgment.
A long silence followed.
The lighter made a soft click sound – he had already smoked several cigarettes.
Yu Nuo bit her finger, “Where are you? I want to come find you right now.”
…
…
The living room lights were off, Yu Ge’s door tightly shut.
Like a thief, Yu Nuo moved carefully and quietly, afraid of making any noise, walking barefoot on the tile floor. In the darkness, she used her phone’s flashlight, slowly making her way to the entrance.
—
Chen Yuzheng’s car was parked near her residential complex.
Yu Nuo searched for a bit, then ran over in a few steps, opened the car door and got in.
Chen Yuzheng still had a half-smoked cigarette between his lips.
When she learned he was nearby and hadn’t left, Yu Nuo was in such a hurry to see him that she came down without even changing out of her sleepwear.
After finishing one cigarette, Chen Yuzheng reached for the pack again.
“Stop smoking.”
Yu Nuo took away his lighter, biting her lip, her eyelashes fluttering as she looked at him pleadingly.
The car fell into brief silence before Chen Yuzheng smiled: “Did you miss me?”
Yu Nuo nodded hesitantly.
Her fingers inched over gradually, fingertips touching the back of his hand, “Chen Yuzheng, don’t mind it.”
He precisely caught her hand, “What is it?”
Their fingers intertwined, feeling his hand was very cold, Yu Nuo spoke: “About what my brother just said…”
Chen Yuzheng’s narrow eyes curved slightly upward, his expression indifferent, tone casual: “It’s fine, I don’t mind.”
Still that calm manner. Just like when they first met, the impression he gave her. Somewhat arrogant, not really caring about anyone.
“Really?” Yu Nuo felt a bit confused and hesitated, “But I feel like you’re not very happy.”
“A little, but not because of that.”
Yu Nuo felt slightly more at ease and asked patiently: “Then what is it because of?”
After a while, Chen Yuzheng drawled, “Sister wouldn’t let me kiss her earlier, I’m quite sad about that.”
Yu Nuo: “…….”
Her heart felt sour and chaotic, “Then come closer.”
Chen Yuzheng considered as he looked at her: “What?”
Yu Nuo fought back her embarrassment, her voice soft, not knowing where to look, “I’ll give you a kiss.”
…
…
Somehow it turned into their current position, the car’s space was cramped, with her straddling his lap.
Her back was still pressed against the hard steering wheel.
Yu Nuo continued kissing him.
Chen Yuzheng held her chin with one hand, his tongue parting her lips, gently tasting. His fingers slid down to her collarbone. The sleepwear was a spaghetti strap style, one strap had already fallen down in the chaos, and he noticed her slightly tense body.
Chen Yuzheng was about to move his hand away. Yu Nuo suddenly grabbed his hand, barely daring to breathe.
He paused for a few seconds, his voice hoarse: “What are you doing?”
As if making some kind of determination, she abruptly guided his hand to rest on her chest, along with her own.
Chen Yuzheng froze.
Making such a suggestive, vulnerable gesture. She had already exceeded her lifetime limit of embarrassment.
Yu Nuo felt embarrassed on her own behalf, her throat tight with nervousness as she murmured: “Chen Yuzheng, I don’t dislike this…”
