She stood frozen in place, thinking she must have heard wrong.

Yu Ge frowned and shook off Chen Yuzheng’s arm that was clinging to his neck, his tone filled with disgust: “What are you standing there for? Help drag him inside.”

Yu Nuo responded uncertainly and hurried forward to help.

Together with Yu Ge, she awkwardly carried the drunk man to the living room couch.

Yu Ge had barely managed to get free when the half-unconscious person accurately grabbed his wrist again, mumbling: “Brother, don’t go… listen to me, I haven’t finished… talking…”

Even drunk, his grip was especially strong. Yu Ge couldn’t break free.

Yu Nuo crouched beside the sofa and noticed Chen Yuzheng’s clothes and pants were dirty, with wounds on his arms and knees mixed with dirt and blood. She looked up, her eyes showing unconscious concern: “What happened to him?”

Yu Ge yanked the hand off himself.

After finishing dinner, Chen Yuzheng was completely drunk. Yu Ge coldly watched him for a while, initially not wanting to help further, and went straight to pay the bill at the front desk.

But after leaving, Chen Yuzheng stumbled after him.

The two were on the street, one walking ahead, one chasing behind. Chen Yuzheng’s steps were unsteady, and he fell several times, but as if immune to pain, he got up each time and continued calling Yu Ge’s name.

Passersby all turned to stare at them.

Yu Ge endured for a moment before reluctantly turning back.

Yu Ge, who had just been vomited on, left Chen Yuzheng in the living room and went to take a shower. Yu Nuo crouched beside the sofa and watched him for a while. Then she reached out and gently brushed aside Chen Yuzheng’s wet hair from his forehead.

He seemed very uncomfortable, his cheeks flushed, mumbling with his eyes closed, his features scrunched together.

She called him twice, “Chen Yuzheng, Chen Yuzheng?”

He made two unconscious groans in response.

Yu Nuo: “Are you still feeling unwell? Should I get you some water?”

Chen Yuzheng still didn’t respond.

Yu Ge came out after his shower, drying his hair with a hairdryer, and caught sight of Yu Nuo helping Chen Yuzheng to the bathroom.

The hairdryer sound stopped.

Yu Nuo struggled to help him to the bathroom door, freeing one hand to turn on the light. Chen Yuzheng couldn’t stand steady and crashed against the door with a bang.

Seeing him about to slide down again, Yu Nuo quickly held him up, “Are you okay? Can you manage by yourself?”

Chen Yuzheng hung his head, eyes unfocused, weakly saying: “…I’m fine…”

Yu Nuo went over, helped him turn on the shower, and adjusted the water temperature: “Call me when you’re done, I’ll leave some pajamas at the door.”

As she was speaking.

There was a rustling sound behind her, and Yu Nuo turned around.

Chen Yuzheng’s cleanliness obsession kicked in – even completely drunk, he didn’t forget to first take off his dirty T-shirt, casually throwing it on the ground.

She hung up the shower head and quickly tried to stop him: “Don’t undress yet, wait until I leave.”

Yu Ge stood at the door with a dark expression, grabbing Chen Yuzheng’s hand that was reaching for his pants, and said to Yu Nuo: “Get out.”

Yu Nuo responded with an “oh” and obediently left the bathroom, closing the door.

She was a bit worried and quietly stayed by the door listening for a while. The sound of running water started, followed by clattering noises, occasionally mixed with Yu Ge’s impatient voice.

After they were done.

Yu Nuo took out a pillow from the cabinet and grabbed a blanket.

After settling Chen Yuzheng on the sofa, she knelt beside him, opened the first aid kit, and carefully treated the wounds on his arms and knees.

She blew on them, waiting for the iodine to dry, then threw the cotton swabs in the trash. Looking up, she found Yu Ge standing in the distance with his arms crossed, who had been watching her for who knows how long.

After watching Yu Ge enter his room, Yu Nuo leaned over and tucked Chen Yuzheng’s blanket in properly, then wrote a note and left it on the coffee table:

[Message me if you feel unwell when you wake up, I’ll make you something to eat]

Yu Nuo turned off the living room lights and quietly returned to her room. She half-leaned against the bedside table, turned to the side, and pulled open the drawer to take out several photos.

Her fingers traced along the edges of the photos as memories flooded her mind.

After looking at them for a while, she casually put them aside, pulled down her pillow, and closed her eyes.

Some time later, her phone suddenly vibrated once beside her pillow.

Yu Nuo had been sleeping restlessly all night, and the slight sound immediately woke her up.

It was just past six in the morning, and Chen Yuzheng had sent her a message.

Conquer: “1”

Yu Nuo fumbled to turn on the bedside lamp. She got out of bed and opened her bedroom door.

“You’re awake?” Yu Nuo walked up to him.

Chen Yuzheng looked exhausted, his head pounding after the hangover, “Did I wake you?”

Yu Nuo shook her head.

She hadn’t really been sleeping anyway.

Chen Yuzheng raised his arm, examining the wounds on it, confused: “How did I get hurt? Did your brother beat me up while I was drunk?”

Yu Nuo explained: “No, you fell by yourself.”

“Is that so.” Chen Yuzheng had no memory of it at all, he nodded thoughtfully: “Then I misunderstood my brother-in-law.”

Yu Nuo: “…..”

Chen Yuzheng took a moment to recover, then got up from the sofa: “Do you have a new toothbrush? I need to brush my teeth.”

“Yes, let me find one for you.”

While Chen Yuzheng was washing up, Yu Nuo ran to her room to find him a face towel.

Just as she found one in the cabinet, footsteps approached from behind. Yu Nuo turned around to see Chen Yuzheng leaning against the doorframe.

She handed him the towel: “Dry your face.”

Having washed his face with cold water, Chen Yuzheng was now more alert. He examined the floral wallpaper in her room, “Can I come in?”

Yu Nuo stepped aside.

Chen Yuzheng didn’t stand on ceremony and sat right down on her bed, picking up the Doraemon plush toy, “Fish, isn’t this cat counterfeit? Why is it so ugly?”

“Isn’t it cute though? I hug it to sleep every night.”

Chen Yuzheng tossed the plush aside: “Such an ugly cat, don’t hug it anymore, I’m worried you’ll have nightmares.”

Yu Nuo: “…”

She said somewhat helplessly: “Sit here for a bit, I’ll go wash my face.”

It took her a few minutes to get ready before returning to the room. Chen Yuzheng was still sitting on her bed.

Yu Nuo walked to her dressing table and picked up her moisturizer, “Are you feeling better? Any discomfort?”

Chen Yuzheng gave a casual “mm” in response.

She turned around.

He was looking down, reaching for the photos on the bedside table.

Yu Nuo’s pupils contracted, and she immediately went to stop him, “Hey, you can’t look at those!”

But she was too late.

Chen Yuzheng raised his hand, and Yu Nuo missed.

He even joked: “Challenging a pro player’s reaction speed?”

One sitting and one standing, Yu Nuo had slightly more freedom of movement. She changed direction, pressed on his shoulders, and continued trying to grab the photos.

Chen Yuzheng wasn’t using much strength at all.

When she pushed him, he just fell back onto the bed.

Yu Nuo fell on top of him.

Having no other choice, she covered his eyes, stammering slightly in her panic: “You, you can’t look, this is my private stuff.”

Having achieved his goal, Chen Yuzheng immediately secured Yu Nuo’s waist with his other hand, “What’s the rush? I already saw everything earlier.”

Yu Nuo froze.

She realized he had just been pretending to tease her.

“What’s this about, Fish?” Chen Yuzheng’s lips curled into a smile, “Looks like your privacy is infringing on my portrait rights.”

“……..”

That time at the beach when she secretly photographed him smoking. She never thought the subject would catch her red-handed one day.

Yu Nuo snatched back the photos embarrassedly: “I didn’t infringe on your portrait rights, I just thought the sunrise was beautiful, you just happened to be in the frame, don’t be so full of yourself.”

“Why so flustered?” A muffled laugh came from Chen Yuzheng’s throat as he said softly: “Go ahead and infringe, I’m willing to be violated by sister, you can even hurt me, come on.”

“So early in the morning… can you not be… so…”

She started to speak but stopped, at a loss for words, unable to find the right way to describe him.

Yu Nuo tried to get up, but her waist was still held tight. He wouldn’t let go.

She stopped struggling and just lay on top of him. She changed the subject, asking: “How much did you drink yesterday?”

“Can’t remember.”

Yu Nuo advised: “Don’t drink so much next time, it’s bad for your health.”

“Worth it though.” Chen Yuzheng said carelessly: “If it can soften your brother’s heart, I’d drink ten more bottles.”

He had been so sick last night, throwing up several times, and getting himself all bruised up from falling.

Yu Nuo’s eyes flickered slightly, she bit her lip and hugged him back, her voice barely audible, “Chen Yuzheng, thank you.”

“Why so formal?” Chen Yuzheng brought one of her hands to his lips, “You know I don’t like hearing people say thank you, especially from you. Next time just kiss me instead. Don’t just talk, take some actual action.”

Yu Nuo: “…..”

The emotional gratitude she had just built up was scattered by his few sentences.

Yu Nuo sighed.

After lingering in the room for a while, Yu Nuo walked Chen Yuzheng downstairs, “Are you leaving so early?”

Chen Yuzheng was very self-aware: “Otherwise when your brother wakes up and sees me, he’ll get angry again, and all my efforts from yesterday would be wasted.”

Yu Nuo: “Alright then, message me when you get back to base.”

His car was parked near the residential complex, and Yu Nuo walked him over.

Before opening the car door, Chen Yuzheng suddenly turned back: “By the way, throw away that Doraemon on your bed someday.”

Yu Nuo was confused for a moment, not understanding: “Why?”

“That broken cat isn’t as warm as me, nor as handsome.” Chen Yuzheng leaned down and kissed her, “From now on, you’ll sleep hugging me instead.”

Chen Yuzheng drove back to the TG base humming happily.

During the recent holiday period, the group had been staying up all night like owls, and were now gathered in the living room eating KFC breakfast.

Seeing how lively it was over there, Chen Yuzheng paused his steps, changed direction, and walked over to them swinging his car keys.

He stood by the sofa and greeted them: “Morning, everyone.”

Ultraman glanced at him, “What happened to your arms and legs? Are you injured?”

“These aren’t injuries.” Chen Yuzheng said calmly: “These are my medals of honor, understand?”

Killer was completely confused: “What honor? What medals?”

“Guess.”

Chen Yuzheng sat down among them, crossing his legs, and whistled flirtatiously at Killer.

Killer’s expression was hard to describe: “If you want to talk, just talk normally, can you stop being so flirty?”

Chen Yuzheng curled his lips and mocked: “What’s there to talk about with a single dog like you?”

Killer: “…..”

He lazily reached out and put his arm around Van’s shoulder, “Come, let’s chat.”

Van’s whole body tensed up and he shuddered, uncomfortably moving aside, “Conquer, really, don’t be like this, I’m scared.”

Chen Yuzheng asked with a benevolent expression: “You’ve been dating your girlfriend for two years now, right? Have you met her family?”

Van was bewildered: “No, there’s no need to rush meeting parents when dating.”

Chen Yuzheng looked at him sympathetically, “Then your relationship isn’t sincere enough.”

Van: “?”

Chen Yuzheng seemed disappointed, sighed, and took his arm back from Van’s shoulder, “We have nothing in common to talk about either.”

Van: “……..”

Though no one asked him, Chen Yuzheng continued speaking: “After all, I’ve been dating for a while, and it didn’t take long before I met my girlfriend’s family, even spent a night at her place. Things are pretty official between us.”

After these words, even Thomas’s expression froze. He almost spat out the bacon burger he was chewing.

Chen Yuzheng looked around, confused: “Why are you all staring at me? Are you that envious?”

Thomas said seriously: “I’m thinking about which mental hospital in Shanghai would be most suitable for you.”

“Enough, Thomas, I can see right through your jealous and twisted expression.” Chen Yuzheng laughed carelessly, “You and Killer, oh, and Ultraman too.”

The three people who were called out stared at him with restrained expressions, waiting to see what other nonsense would come out of Chen Yuzheng’s mouth.

Chen Yuzheng said pityingly: “Just a bunch of pitiful clowns who are jealous of me.”

“Jealous of you?” Unable to stand his smugness, Ultraman felt sick, “Who did you meet from Yu Nuo’s family? Have you won over Fish? You’re just bragging here, I’m embarrassed for you.”

Killer sneered: “Win over Fish? What dream are you having? It’d be easier to conquer the Milky Way than to win him over.”

Chen Yuzheng remained composed, “My relationship with Fish has already transformed.”

Killer became curious: “Is that so? Then tell us, how has your relationship transformed?”

Chen Yuzheng: “From now on, we’re brothers.”

Everyone present felt like they had just heard the biggest joke ever.

“Well, I’m a straightforward person, so I’m not afraid to tell you.” Chen Yuzheng said slowly: “After yesterday, Fish and I are solid bros.”

Afraid that those present couldn’t hear clearly, Chen Yuzheng slowed his speech, emphasizing each word: “The two of us, we’ve got that, shower-buddies kind of friendship.”
