Xu Si immediately changed his words: “I’m not apologizing, I want to treat you to a meal. Is that okay, little teacher?”

Jiang Rong softly replied with a “mm.”

At the dining table, Xu Si looked at the table full of green vegetables, then glanced at Jiang Rong sitting across from him.

“Vegetables are good for your health.”

Xu Si’s black eyes were filled with mirth: “Little teacher really cares about me.”

Jiang Rong didn’t speak, but picked up some vegetables with her chopsticks and put them in his bowl. “Eat.”

Xu Si kept smiling at her: “Thank you.” After saying that, he remembered something: “Midterms are coming up soon. It’s time to see the results of our tutoring. Do you have confidence in me, little teacher?”

When he called her ‘little teacher,’ his eyes held a smile that was somehow captivating.

“You’ll definitely improve from before.”

“Of course, I had no score last time.”

“…”

Xu Si thought for a moment, speaking somewhat cautiously: “If I improve by fifteen places, can I ask for a reward from little teacher?”

“Sure,” Jiang Rong said, then added: “As long as it’s something I can do.”

“Okay.”

“Damn, Big Head, it hurts so much, be gentler!” Yang Shikun lay on the bed, grimacing.

Hao Ming looked at the cotton swab in his hand and asked uncertainly: “I’m already being very gentle. Does it still hurt?”

“It hurts like hell.” Yang Shikun’s face was contorted with pain.

Hao Ming saw the footprints on his body, still red, and his hand paused while applying the medicinal alcohol: “Next time when Si-ge and I aren’t around, don’t try to be a hero, got it?”

Yang Shikun sat up excitedly when he heard this: “Damn, that beast made my cousin not want to go to school anymore. I’m so angry!”

After speaking, he winced in pain because he’d aggravated his injuries.

Hao Ming pushed him back onto the bed: “I’m not done applying medicine, don’t move around.”

“I’m just angry.”

“I know.”

Hao Ming continued: “Si-ge already beat that guy into a pig’s head, beat him so badly his mother wouldn’t recognize him. What more do you want to do in your current state?”

“Who are you calling disabled? Your whole family is disabled!”

Hao Ming: “…”

Better not argue with an injured person.

Yang Shikun looked up and saw the injury on his face: “Don’t you need to put some medicine on your face?”

“No need.”

Yang Shikun dug out a band-aid from the first aid kit and stuck it directly on his face: “There, done.”

Hao Ming didn’t say anything, letting him fiddle with his face while putting away the first aid kit.

Yang Shikun sat on his bed: “I’m dead meat. Looking like this, I’m definitely getting a beating when I go home.”

He suddenly moved closer to Hao Ming: “Hey, Big Head, if I tell my mom I got these injuries from falling, do you think she’ll believe it?”

Hao Ming: “I believe auntie isn’t blind.”

“Then what should I do? I’m done for. It’ll be a mixed doubles beating, I definitely won’t survive. My mom might even kick me out of the house.”

Yang Shikun lay on the bed, seemingly already imagining himself getting beaten.

He sighed. A beating was probably unavoidable.

“If I get kicked out, I’ll go to Si-ge, but I’m afraid he’ll reject me.”

Yang Shikun muttered to himself.

“Then come to me.”

“Isn’t your aunt coming back soon too?”

Hao Ming shook his head: “It’s fine.”

Yang Shikun rolled over on his bed: “Then it’s settled, you have to take me in.”

Hao Ming glanced at him: “Stop rolling around, you’re getting medicinal alcohol all over the sheets.”

“Got it.”

“I’ll go make some food.”

While Hao Ming cooked, Yang Shikun sat on a stool nearby, eagerly waiting to eat.

He sautéed the scallions until fragrant, added diced tomatoes, then water, and when it boiled, added flour paste, beaten egg mixture, vegetables, and finally seasonings.

Yang Shikun smelled the aroma and stood up to look in the pot: “Big Head, will this taste good?”

Hao Ming turned to look at him: “If it’s not good, don’t drink it.”

A few minutes later, Yang Shikun was drinking from his bowl non-stop: “How did you make this? It’s so good.”

Hao Ming didn’t respond, just filled another bowl for him and went to cook other dishes.

As he cooked, Yang Shikun kept peering over to watch.

Hao Ming was somewhat helpless: “Stop drinking, you’ll get too full.”

“Last bowl.”

Yang Shikun looked at the dishes on the table and smiled: “Never knew before, Big Head, your cooking is pretty good. You’re really husband material. Some girl’s going to get lucky.”

Hao Ming glared at him: “Even food can’t shut you up.”

Yang Shikun took out his phone and took a photo: “Big Head’s first time cooking, I have to document this.”

“Go to hell.”

After taking the photo, Yang Shikun sent it to Xu Si.

Yang Shikun: Si-ge, never thought I’d live to eat Big Head’s cooking, haha, had to record this.

After sending it, he had just taken a bite when he suddenly remembered something: “Big Head, wonder if Si-ge got his arm checked at the hospital.”

Hao Ming paused his chopsticks: “Why don’t you message and ask?”

“I just sent a message but Si-ge didn’t reply. I’ll make a video call.”

Yang Shikun made the video call.

Yang Shikun: Call rejected

Yang Shikun was stunned and looked at Hao Ming: “Si-ge rejected it.”

“He might be busy.”

“Okay.”

“Let’s eat, the food’s getting cold.”

At the mention of food, Yang Shikun immediately perked up.

Meanwhile.

Jiang Rong saw Xu Si hang up and asked: “You’re not answering?”

“It’s Yang Shikun.”

“Answer it, he might be worried about you.”

Xu Si called Yang Shikun back.

Yang Shikun heard the WeChat call ring while still chewing his food, and when he saw it was from Si-ge, he immediately answered.

“Si-ge, did you get your arm checked at the hospital?”

“Yes.”

Yang Shikun stared at the background behind Xu Si for a moment: “Hey, Si-ge, are you eating? The background looks like a restaurant.”

“Yes, I am.”

Xu Si then turned the phone towards Jiang Rong.

Yang Shikun’s cheerful voice came through the phone: “Study god!”

Jiang Rong, who had been eating, paused with her chopsticks when she saw the phone turned towards her, then waved at Yang Shikun.

Yang Shikun grinned widely: “Study god, did Si-ge come to find you today?”

Jiang Rong nodded: “Yes.”

Yang Shikun noticed all the green dishes on their table: “Why is everything green? Si-ge, Study god, did someone get cheated on?”

Xu Si laughed: “You’ll have to ask your Study god about that.”
